Dissemination of your research is the aim of the game, and whilst the ultimate goal is to get your work published in a journal, presentations and posters are an important part of getting yourself and your work seen. This thread is for discussing your posters - for getting advice on content or layout (I personally have a weakness in judging aesthetics) or for sharing prize winners.
For reference the BABAO poster guidelines for the 2014 conference suggested:
- An A0 poster in portrait - Minimum of 24pt for the body text, 44pt for the title, and 36pt for subheadings - Simple fonts, such as Times New Roman, Arial, or Helvetica - A simple background that isn't too 'fussy'

The winner of the Bill White student poster prize at BABAO 2014 was Alison Atkin, University of Sheffield, who has done a very nice blog post on her poster "The Attritional Mortality Myth" (which reminds me a little of Horrible Histories): deathsplaining.wordpress.com/2014/09/28/plagueposter/
